    • 1). Set the Forerunner in close proximity to the sensor when pairing the units, as placing the Forerunner too far away from the sensor will result in an error. Make sure you are not near other sensors while pairing the units.

    • 2). Clean the sensors with a clean, damp cloth if the signals on the Forerunner appear to be weak or malfunctioning.

    • 3). Place the transmitter on the back if the Forerunner is producing erratic readouts. Moisten the strap using water, saliva or electrode gel, which can be purchased at many sports supply stores.

    • 4). Wear cotton fabric if the Forerunner appears to have difficulty receiving signals or is producing erratic readouts. Synthetic fabrics may create static electricity, which can interfere with the signal.

    • 5). Clean the Forerunner with a clean, damp cloth after every use and wipe dry if transmission continues to be difficult. Accumulated debris, salt or dirt may interfere with proper functioning.
