Who Says You Cannot Afford a Family Vacation?
It's All in the Planning
Let's first identify the most costly items on the vacation agenda:
Airfare, restaurants, hotels, car rentals and excursions. Now that we know what costs the most we need to decide on how the family can be flexible to offset these costs.
You can always plan a vacation that is within a few hours of your home so you do not have to endure the added expense of airfare. Driving can be a burden with kids, especially if it is a long drive. Cheap airfare is everywhere. Choose several destinations and see what deals on airfares you can compare with and choose the most affordable. These are two avenues you can take in transportation.
If it is necessary to travel by air, does that mean it is apparent you will need to rent a car? This is a big expense and may not necessarily be something that is required. When choosing your vacation destination, one thing you need to keep in mind is what you are going to do while on vacation. If you are planning a Disney trip, stay at a Disney Resort. You will save a bundle on car rental expenses. If you are planning a trip to the beach, stay in a hotel that has local attractions within walking distance. These are all things you need to really concentrate on in your planning stages.
Have you ever considered a Vacation Rental home instead of a Hotel or Resort? In the long run, this could save you a lot of money on vacation. If you are in a vacation home you do not have to eat every meal out. You can cook right there. You do not have to spend every moment out doing things because you have the choice of just staying in and relaxing with the family. The benefits are endless when considering a vacation rental.
Come Sail Away! I love cruises! The biggest reason for my love of cruises is the money you can save. Imagine paying for each person and it includes all the meals, water and soft drinks? That's a bundle of savings right there! Cut down on the excursions though. You can go site seeing and enjoy the world around you without having to do all the activities. Pick and choose a couple you know your family will enjoy and stick to it.
Cheap Deals! They are out there everywhere! Get on the internet and do some research. You will be amazed at the discounts and savings you will find from Hotels, Resorts, Airfare, Cruises and even Vacation Rentals.
An affordable vacation takes planning and research. Make it a family adventure in choosing where you would all like to go and what you would all like to do.
