Marriage is known as the social institution under which a man and woman establish their decision to live as husband and wife by legal commitments and/or religious ceremonies. As part of tradition, the groom has to deliver a wedding speech during the reception that follows the wedding ceremony. Here, now, are sample wedding speeches for grooms.

You can begin by thanking your family, friends, and other guests for their presence. You can say something that goes like this: "Good evening, guests! First of all, on behalf of my wife, I would like to thank everyone for coming today. It means so much to us to have everyone we love and care about gathered here in this hall to help us celebrate one of the most joyous days of our lives. I can honestly say that it would not have been the same without you."

After giving your sincerest words of welcome and gratitude, you may then decide to tell short anecdotes about you and your bride. You have to decide on a concrete topic to share first. You can tell stories of how you and your bride met, your adventures as a couple, the trials and difficulties you encountered, how you managed to surpass them, how you proposed and how she said yes, and what your plans are for the future.

Once you have finished sharing some stories with your guests, you may then address your bride by saying something along the lines of "To my beautiful wife, thank you so much for saying "yes". One word, and you have made me the happiest man in the world. On my part, I promise to love and cherish you forever. I will never fail to make you feel special, and I will stay at your side through life's ups and downs. I will be there to support you during the ugliest and most difficult of times, as your husband, as your best friend, as your other half."
