How to Make Gold Rings
- 1). Buy or make a ring mold. If you want to make the mold, learn lost wax casting. It is an ancient practice that is the best way to make the mold for your ring. Otherwise, buy a ring mold that fits the shape of gold ring you want to create.
- 2). Recycle some long-forgotten gold earrings. This is a good way of acquiring gold for your ring mold. You can recycle virtually any gold jewelry you'd like or even use gold coins. You could also buy a gold bar. That would be the most straightforward way to get gold for your ring, but it would be a little costly.
- 3). Melt your gold in a melting dish by using a fuel gas or oxygen torch. Heat all around the gold; you will notice it turn to liquid.
- 4). Put the molten gold in the centrifugal casting machine's arm. The arm will release and force the gold into your ring mold.
- 5). Let the mold cool off, and you have your gold ring. You might want to get tools for smoothing off your new ring because it won't turn out perfectly. Smooth out the size using your smoothing tools. Don't worry about being too forceful with the smoothing process. You can always melt the gold and start over.
