    • 1). Unplug the electric Weed Eater from the extension cord or power outlet.

    • 2). Let the Weed Eater cool to avoid burns from the tool.

    • 3). Use a measuring tape to measure out 30 feet of Weed Eater line.

    • 4). Cut the line at 30 feet with scissors or shears.

    • 5). Hold the Weed Eater with the bottom pointing up. Wipe the entire bottom of the spool and hub with a dry shop towel to remove grass clippings, dirt and debris.

    • 6). Grasp the tap button on the bottom of the Weed Eater hub, and pull firmly straight off to remove the hub from the tool.

    • 7). Pull the line spool straight out of the hub.

    • 8). Insert the trimmer line into the small hole on the inside of the line spool with 1/2 inch protruding out of the spool.

    • 9). Hold the spool in one hand, and wind the line around the spool in the direction of the arrow printed on the spool. Wind the line evenly in the channel while pulling it tight in each revolution.

Push the last 3 to 5 inches through the notch in the spool, and then through the line exit hole so it protrudes on the outside of the hub.

Push the spool into the hub while lining up the notch in the spool and the exit hole in the hub. Press firmly into place. There will be an audible snapping sound when the spool is fully in place.

Grasp the line protruding from the hub and pull it firmly. This will release the line from the notch for operation.
