While the Daytime Emmy awards were not televised this year, the 2014 ceremony was held on June 22 in Beverly Hills, hosted by Kathy Griffin. While reports of the event itself are not good, there were some highlights for game show fans as some of our favorite shows and hosts were nominated for awards.

Winning in the category for Outstanding Game Show was Jeopardy!, which has pocketed an impressive total of 30 Daytime Emmys so far.

Host Alex Trebek has won five himself for Outstanding Game Show Host, and was honored with a lifetime achievement award in 2011 along with Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak.

The complete list of nominees in this category includes:
  • Jeopardy! (syndicated)
  • The American Bible Challenge (GSN)
  • The Chase (GSN)
  • Let's Make a Deal (CBS)
  • The Price is Right (CBS)
  • Wheel of Fortune (syndicated)

The winner for Outstanding Game Show Host was Steve Harvey, who of course hosts Family Feud. Harvey has done a great job with the Feud since taking over for John O'Hurley, and many of the show's video clips have gone viral simply for bringing the funny.

Harvey has been nominated for Daytime Emmys in the past, both for Family Feud and for hosting his own talk show. This is his first win. He did not, however, attend the ceremony - this photo is from an event earlier in the year.

The full list of nominees for Outstanding Game Show Host is:
  • Steve Harvey, Family Feud (syndicated)
  • Wayne Brady, Let's Make a Deal (CBS)
  • Jeff Foxworthy, The American Bible Challenge (GSN)
  • Todd Newton, Family Game Night (The Hub)

Of note this year is GSN's total of three nominations, for three different shows.
