Assessing The Latest Virgin Media Offers

The most competitive markets at the moment are all based around communication - broadband, landline, mobile phones and so on. With so many different companies offering different deals it can be difficult to work out which deal is the best one for you, so many people just concentrate on the main three companies - Sky, BT and Virgin Media.

Although Sky is probably the best company if you want the most extensive TV services and BT might be the best as far as landlines are concerned, Virgin is the company that has the most impressive broadband service and a generally good all-round package in terms of TV and landlines as well.

A prevalent trend amongst the big communications providers is to make it more financially viable to get all of your services through them in one package deal, rather than signing three separate contracts and having to pay three separate bills every month. If you go for Virgin Media Bundles, these will usually come cheaper and you will only have to pay one monthly bill. These are obviously fairly popular, and Virgin Media UK has made an attempt to capitalise on it by creating packages called Collections and marketing them as Virgin Media offers.

There are currently three Collections packages available: Essential, Premiere and VIP, where each demands a more expensive fee than the one before it. The Essential Collection offers fibre-optic broadband with a monthly data usage limit of 30Mb, 75 channels with a 500GB TiVo box and unlimited weekend landline calls to other UK landlines and Virgin Mobile phones; the Premiere Collection includes fibre-optic broadband with a monthly data usage limit of 60Mb and a free 3-month trial of Spotify Premium, 175 channels with a 1TB TiVo box and unlimited weekend landline calls to other UK landlines and Virgin Mobile phones and the VIP Collection includes fibre-optic broadband with a monthly data usage limit of 100Mb and a free 3-month trial of Spotify Premium, 205 channels including the Sky Sports channels and a 1TB TiVo box and unlimited calls at any time to UK landlines and Virgin Mobile phones.

The company is pushing these Collections as their main deals currently, with national advertising on TV and posters working to promote them as much as possible for the limited time that they are available. The fact that they include all of the services that would be in a normal bundle already means that they are good value for money - it could be argued that the amount of extras alone, like the TiVo boxes that allow TV programmes to be recorded and the Spotify trial that allows you to stream almost any music you can think of, make the deals at least worth considering.
