How to Squidoo - A Squidoo How to Guide
If you have stumbled across the Squidoo website but have no idea 'how to Squidoo' then this guide is for you.
Squidoo is hot right now and is fast becoming the place to be if you want to create your own web site.
Well technically it's not really your own web site but more a collection of pages that you put together on various topics.
You can create one page or hundreds of pages...
the sky's the limit.
Squidoo makes it easy for anyone to start creating pages.
But before we go any further we need to stop using that four letter word 'page'.
No it's not a swear word but we shouldn't be using it because Squidoo doesn't use this term for the pages on their site.
Instead they use the word lens.
So if anyone says to you that they have a Squidoo lens then what they are referring to is a page on the Squidoo website that they have created.
Squidoo is brilliant because it allows anyone, even someone who has never created a website or blog to have a page of content up in about 5 minutes...
and you don't have to stick to just one page, you can add as many as you like.
But the best thing of all is that it is free.
So how do you create a lens? Well it's pretty easy as Squidoo provides a step by step process when you sign up.
The tricky bits start when you begin to add modules.
You see, each lens is made up of one or more modules.
So for starters, at the top of your lens you would have an introduction module.
This is where you might add content about your lens and why you have created it.
The next module could be a text module where you can start writing content about your topic.
You can write about anything you like.
Other modules you might include are a guestbook where visitors can leave comments, an eBay module where you can add products related to your lens and an RSS module which provides updated content to your lens.
