You can either flip them immediately for cash (as many do), restore them and the sell them out or rent them, or just purchase properties to rent them, which provides a continues income stream.
This is very important to know before you buy, as it will help you figure out how to finance it.
This is the most important thing, but there are other things you need to know as well.
Next up, you need to locate properties that are selling for under the fair market value, because this will give you a profit margin.

The best thing is that becoming a real estate investor isn't nearly as hard as most people think.
It sounds very complicated to the untrained person, but when you acquire some specialized knowledge, it really is fairly simple.
Even if you don't currently have the money or time in the industry you think you need, you can still become an investor.
Probably the best method to do for becoming a real estate investor is to just learn from others who are doing it successfully.
This is a very simple concept, but doing so and not doing so can be the difference between success and failure.
This is known as being a real estate bird dog, and for this you essentially go out and locate the investment property for the experienced investor, and while this won't make you rich, you can get a nice income while most importantly learning the tricks of the trade.
The best thing about this is that it is not very time consuming.
In fact, you can do so during your time off from work, and you don't even have to quit your current job to do so.
This is a tremendous way to learn how successful real estate investors do things, and one of the most critical steps before becoming a real estate investor.
