- 1). Enter "second chance checking" into an online search engine like Google and look for a bank with good terms for its second chance checking accounts. The banks offering good terms are ones with little to no minimum balance requirements, small to no fees and no required security deposit to open the account. A couple of choices that come up are Peoples Cash Solutions and Compass Bank. Let's use Peoples Cash Solutions as an example of the online application process you can expect at a bank.
- 2). To apply for a second chance checking account at Peoples Cash Solutions, go to the bank's Web page for this account (see Resource). Click on "Apply Now" and then click on the box acknowledging that you've read and agree to the terms and conditions. Then click "Apply Now" a second time.
- 3). Click "I Accept" when asked whether you agree to the overdraft policies.
- 4). Fill out the application by entering your personal information and then click "Print This Page." Save this page, as you'll need it again after you get your pre-approval.
- 5). Click to electronically submit your application for pre-approval. Wait for your pre-approval. You will get this approval via email within two to three business days.
- 6). Mail your application, a copy of your ID and a minimum of $30 to open the account to Peoples Cash Solutions.
