You probably have heard of the gastric band surgery.
It has been offered now for a number of years to help people that are obese to force them to eat smaller meals.
This article is not about the gastric band surgery.
It's about a process that uses the images of the surgery to help change the responses of overweight people.
The program I'm referring to is the virtual gastric band process.
In the virtual process the client is guided into a meditative state where they can use their imagination more fully.
In this state of quiet and calm focus, the client is directed to a visualization of being in the operating room of a well appointed hospital.
The surgeons, doctors, nurses and support staff are all working wonderfully efficiently to assist the client in their surgery.
The client experiences a surgical procedure in their imagination during this program.
During this state of vivid imagination the overweight person is able to experience the surgery so precisely that some emerge from the operation feeling a tightness in their stomach where the virtual gastric band has been installed.
This sensation of a change in the size of the internal organ activates their sense of satiety and feelings of physical fullness when eating.
This helps them to stay on track with eating smaller amounts of food.
The program is a multi session approach to re-training your mind to behave differently around food.
The image of a gastric band is a great visual for making changes.
If you give yourself a strong enough reason to make a change, you will accept that reason and the change becomes easier to carry out.
So too, with this system of weight loss.
If your stomach has shrunk in size you will feel physically full sooner and eat less food.
The act of eating less food will cause the fat stored in your body to be used for nourishment and over time you will lose weight.
The weight loss becomes very natural as the hunger feelings are also diminished.
Using other visuals for smaller portions of food, and supplying eating tactics that will help you change your relationship with food will have a lasting effect on how you eat, and how much you weigh.
