My Dacor Oven Does Not Turn on
- If the Dacor oven in your kitchen does not power on, the first component to check is the plug. Ensure the plug for the oven or range is securely and completely in the wall and has not been pulled out by jarring or pulling. If the oven in question is a microwave oven, it may be plugged into a surge protector. Verify that the surge protector or power strip is activated, and press the reset button if necessary.
- After checking the plug, ensure the outlet is receiving power. Unplug the oven, and plug in a radio or other electronic device. If the device does not power on, the problem is not the oven itself but the power outlet. Reset the breaker in the main fuse box and, if necessary, replace any fuses that have blown. Once the fuse is replaced, plug in the oven and attempt to power it on.
- Not enough power going to the oven can also cause problems such as a failure to power on. Low power is often due to faulty wiring in either the oven or the power outlet. Check the plug and the power cord for damage. If no damage is found in the power cord, plug another device into the power outlet. If the device powers on only intermittently or not at all, frayed wiring in the wall may be the culprit. Call an electrician to fix the wiring in your kitchen since faulty wiring is a serious danger that can lead to fire.
- One of the safety features on the select Dacor ovens is a locking control panel. When the control panel is locked, such as on the Dacor Epicure Renaissance Single Wall Oven, the oven will not power on, and the oven will not heat, which helps keep children safe even if they get to the control panel of the oven. Although children cannot access the controls, parents can unlock it by pressing the "Cancel Secure" key and holding it for four seconds. After four seconds, the lights for the control panel should activate, and the oven should return to normal use.
