Choosing a Wedding Bouquet That is Right for You

101 4
It is very hard to decide on what type of wedding bouquet to use at your wedding day. You need to select a bouquet that's just right for you and also remember that it needs to suite the rest of the bridal party. The bouquet also needs to suite your theme and style of the wedding. You also need to consider your body shape when selecting a bouquet.

Your bouquet will highlight your worst flaws if you make the wrong choice. You would want it to show off your best features. You don't want to scream every time you look at your wedding photos, so this is something you definitely need to avoid.

Everyone would want to assist you on choosing a bouquet. They will be giving you advice on all the different flowers, colors and shapes. They are more likely to give you different and competing advice rather than agreeing with one another.

Someone might be advising you to stay away from roses and another might be telling you to use them. Someone might be advising you on using pale colors and the other might say that they aren't romantic. Don't listen to any of them!

This wedding is yours and your opinion is the one that counts. Simply thank everyone for their ideas, but make a choice on what you like. Don't choose something that someone else told you to use. So, let's look at how to choose your wedding bouquet

Looking through bridal magazines and getting a good sense of what you like and what you don't is a fantastic way to start. While you are busy scouting magazines, answer these questions in your head:
  1. What colors do I want in my bouquet?
  2. What type of flowers do I want in my bouquet?
  3. What shape of the bouquet is best for me?
  4. What size of the bouquet suits me best?
  5. What type of greenery do I want?
  6. Silk or fresh flowers?

It's all up to you on making the most informed choice and answering the above questions. However, there are four things that you need to consider…
  1. Fresh flowers are more expensive than silk flowers and both of them looks just as good. Silk flowers can be kept without preserving them after the wedding.
  2. Think about the type of stems you want (natural or wired), they will limit the bouquet types that can be made.
  3. Try to keep the bouquets styles of the flower girls similar and try to make them a bit smaller. You are the star of the wedding and you need to stand out.
  4. Using silk flowers are much easier than fresh flowers if you want to make your own wedding bouquet. It wouldn't damage that easy.

The most important factor to think about is your body shape and choosing the right style to fit it.
  1. Short ladies: Go for a sheath or teardrop bouquet. It provides an illusion of length.
  2. Tall ladies: Go for a medium teardrop or large posy bouquet. The posy bouquet will draw people's eyes down to a focal point and they would not focus on your length. With the medium teardrop, your height would look a little more even.
  3. Large ladies: Go for a large bouquet that would make you seem slimmer other than a small bouquet that would make you seem larger.

The trick here is to choose a wedding bouquet with a shape that would compliment your body shape and would not take all focus away from you. You would want people to look at you and not ultimately your flowers.
