  • The employer may obtain records from state courts, as well as the Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations, regarding your criminal history. Records obtained from these entities will contain any convictions against you for misdemeanors or felonies. Most employers will not hire you if you have a felony conviction, and some may hesitate to extend a job offer if you have been convicted of a misdemeanor.
