Travel With Ease, Travel in Peace
Have you ever got jealous of a turtle? How they could go to places with their humble abode mounted on their backs. I for one have an extreme difficulty mastering the art of packing light. I, for a million times now, have dreamt to be just like the turtle, to take my house with me whenever I travel and go to different places. I want the comforts of my bed, the scent of my potpourri, and basically the feel of my house. As much as I love to travel, my severe attachment to my familiar environment hinders my desire to see the world.
I have lamented on my dilemma to reconcile my two passions in life. I don't think I could ever have the perfect balance against the two. Therefore, with my unique condition, I was able to devise a way to even just a little bit, make my life easier for me.
On toiletries
I don't trust hotel toiletries. Supposedly, the space in your bag to put toiletries can be used for more important and more significant stuff to bring with you in your escapade, but what if you have sensitive skin? Thus, you have to bring your own supplies of skin and other hygienic bits and pieces with you. My solution? Invest on some travel sized containers that are just enough for your travel consumption. Containers of about 100ml are suggested for a decent and safe amount, plus that is the only allowed amount of liquids in the airports.
On gadgets
Man has now been more and more dependent to the latest gadgets and devices in the world. There is even an addiction and a certain phobia regarded to the dependence on them. A man can actually go out of the house without his shirt on, but not without his smartphone. So, when we go to places, we also want to bring them with us: laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc. And then again, for your convenience and also safety, instead of bringing them all, I suggest that you bring only two most essential devices and mobile accessories with you, those are your tablet and your smartphone. Why the two? First, because the tablet can at least function as your laptop, and your smartphone can do a gazillion things with it. You can have internet access, GPS, alarm clock, camera, and more.
On clothes
This is the hardest to pack of all the things that need packing I believe, especially of course if you are very particular with style. But when you travel, there is a more important factor that you need to look into besides style, and that is comfort. How can you imagine yourself walking and basking a foreign city with your high heels on? Your feet will kill you. How can you possibly pack five pairs of shoes with different colors in a single suitcase? You have to consider these things when you are packing; hence, you will not experience difficulty along the way.
Travel while you are young. You can't expect your wants to all be in harmony. You don't need to sacrifice one to make way for another; you just have to use your head and make it work regardless of all the obstacles.
