VeggieTale Review
In December 1993 dancing and singing vegetables appeared upon the scene entertaining and delighting children with stories and truths from the Bible and so VeggieTales was born.
This Christian based series was the brain child of Phil Vischer and Mike Nawrocki who were computer animators before the VeggieTales came into their lives.
VeggieTales started out as 30 minute episodes on VHS tape later released in DVD format as well.
In 2006 VeggieTales was introduced to public television on NBC children's programming called Qubo.
The series first debuted as a computer animated movie but has branched out into many different venues such as books, music, movies, clothing and toys.
It is reported that because of the computer generated figures that appendages would be hard to be included so the first thought was to make the characters candy bars and different candy items.
Vischer's wife pointed out that mothers across the country would be upset with the continuous candy references.
So vegetables and fruits were decided upon as the body part.
The two main characters are Bob the Tomato and Larry the Cucumber.
These fun loving, song singing characters have appeared in approximately 40 different adventures leading your children along the way always with Christian moral themes and taught Biblical values and lessons with fun mixed in along the way.
Bob and Larry have many other friends that join them during the different adventures such as Archibald Asparagus, Junior Asparagus, Mr.
Lunt, Pa Grape, and Jimmy Gourd.
In the beginning Vischer, his wife and Nawrocki provided voices for the characters.
Originally the series was created for young children ages 3 to 8.
But because of its quick wit it has gained popularity with kids of all ages up through adults.
As mentioned earlier there are many different venues for the VeggieTales characters.
They even come in personalized media products such as music and movies.
