Throwing a Simple Party For Mingling

A quick and easy, yet fabulous way to throw a get together with your closest friends is through a cheese tasting party.
There is nothing simpler than foregoing your white apron to easily cut up some cheese to prepare for a party.
With a little know how, your next get together can be stress free.
To host a cheese party, you need to start off with a general plan.
Start off by inviting about twelve of your favorite food lovers.
The next thing you need to do is to choose about three to five different cheeses for your guests to sample.
There are many different types of cheese to choose from, so try to pick a wide variety of tastes and textures.
You could start with a blue cheese, which has the most intense flavor.
Gorgonzola and Roquefort would be examples of this category.
On the other end of the flavor spectrum you have the more mild cheeses.
Brie and Camembert fall into this category.
If you choose one each from these categories and then add in some Gruyere, Taleggio, and Fontina, you will have rounded out the types of cheeses nicely.
While this might feel out of your comfort zone, you may be surprised to find that your hospitality uniforms come in more than one style! Once you have chosen your cheeses, consider what other types of goodies you will have to accompany the main attraction.
The first thing that immediately comes to mind is of course wine.
Make sure that you serve at least one red and one white.
Feel free to have a variety for your guests to choose from as well.
Grapes, apples, and fancy crackers will also go with your cheeses and wines nicely.
After you have made all of your food choices, it is time to make sure that you have enough of the right stuff to serve it up on.
You should have enough wine glasses for all of the guests that you invite.
Since this is a cheese party, you will need to have a cheese board to serve the cheese with.
You will also need to have several cheese knives, for cutting up each different type of cheese.
If you are feeling spunky, don your chef shirt and set out name cards for the cheeses for a great way to add a little bit of class to your shindig.
If some of the cheeses that you are tasting can be spread onto crackers or bread, a spreader is a great tool that will make this task easier for your guests.
You can also consider allowing your guests to use your good china to rest their cheeses on.
