How to Network 2 PCs to the Internet
- 1). Connect the router to the DSL or cable modem. The exact steps may vary slightly with the make and model of the modem and router. Generally, this involves running an included Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port of the router to the WAN port on the modem. These should be labeled for easy identification.
- 2). Connect the remaining two Ethernet cables to the open Ethernet ports on the back of the router. Connect the other ends to the Ethernet ports on the backs of the two PCs.
- 3). Turn on the router and the PCs. You may need to install software for the router by inserting the CD that came with the package and following the installation wizard instructions.
- 4). Open a web browser on each computer to test the Internet connection.
