How to Sell on eBay and Make a Profit
Making Money on eBay is so easy, anyone can do it from their own home whenever you have the time, be it 4 in the morning of 2 in the afternoon.
No boss telling you what hours to work, now that's a plus! To make a living out of selling on eBay, you need to be super organized.
It starts with finding the treasure to list, taking great photos and writing good listing descriptions.
I use Seller Source Book.
It costs around $70 a year, but makes listing your items easy as.
The wonderful benefit is that you can have an many photos as you like without having to pay for each one you put on.
This is important, take good photos and take lots of them.
If your buyers can see exactly what they are getting there are no surprises when they open their package at the other end.
Don't be scared to list very clearly any flaws the item might have.
Again, if people know up front, they are prepared and will still love their purchase, flaws and all.
Making sure you know the postage charges for each particular item, you don't want to be fielding question after question about the cost of postage.
Weigh the item and then you will be able to list the price and avoid this.
People want to know what the postage is before they bid.
If the parcel will weigh over 500grams, then you will have to field these questions because it will be different for each postcode.
Don't forget to add a little to each actual postage charge for wrapping and tape.
I add $1.
50 for each parcel I use brown paper for wrapping, and usually use 2 or 3 layers.
The rolls of brown paper, yes they even sell them on eBay, cost around $30 for meters and meters.
I can't remember how many meters were in my roll, but it was lots.
Anyway, this keeps your postage costs down, so more people will bid on your items.
Don't buy the boxes or padded bags from the post office, they are too expensive.
I have sourced the padded bags cheaper from Kmart.
Some smaller items are posted much easier in these.
Another tip, when wrapping your items, always make sure that the parcel is the weirdest shape possible.
If it remotely resembles a square or rectangle shape parcel, Australia Post will apply their 'Cubing Rule' and the postage will be much higher.
I source the tape really cheaply also and use lots to give your parcels toughness for posting.
You can get some great bargains on eBay.
I source products from garage sales and markets.
You would be surprised at the things people choose to get rid off.
What do they say, one persons trash is another persons treasure.
It has never been more true than in this case.
I also buy stuff in the shopping center sales to re-sell it on eBay.
Make sure you provide wonderful service, good communication with your buyers and quick postage.
With PayPal, buyers pay instantly, so you will need your parcels ready to wrap and post at the same time as your auctions end.
Buyers will usually check out your feedback ratings on these before they choose to buy from you.
