    • Harrah's was acquired by private equity firms Apollo Global Management and TPG Capital 2008 for $27.8 billion, so it is currently a private company. The stock used to trade under the symbol HET on the New York Stock Exchange, but since it is now private, it no longer trades on the NYSE.

    • Harrah's Entertainment filed a regulatory filing on August 12, 2010, with the Securities And Exchange Commission that it was planning to go back to the public markets and sell up to $710 million in common stock in an initial public offering. The company expects to be listed on a major stock exchange again.

    • In order to buy shares of Harrah's, you need to be a priority client of one of the IPO underwriters, which have not been announced yet. Major IPO underwriters include Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
