How Long Should My Articles Be?

The short answer to this question is, "it depends.
" Articles used for submission to directory sites generally range in length from 250 to 1,000 words.
So what does this mean to you? Many article marketers choose to err on the lower side of the word count spectrum.
Writing short articles enables the author to create a large volume of articles in less time.
This is important because in order to be successful with article marketing, you must post a large quantity of articles.
Most experts would advise that it is preferable to write three 250-word articles than one 750-word piece; however, this recommendation is in no way set in stone.
The appropriate length for an article is determined by a number of factors: o    The requirements of the article directory that the content will be posted on.
If a site has a minimum or maximum word count requirement, your article must fall within those specifications or else it will not be approved.
o    The number of articles that you intend to post.
Writing shorter articles makes it easier to produce a large quantity of content to submit to directories.
Longer articles require more time and effort, however, the increased value of these articles is often worth the investment.
o    The topic that the article covers.
Some subjects naturally require more words to explain.
For example, it would be difficult to explain the ins and outs of search engine optimization in only 250 words; however, you could offer specific SEO tips in a 250-word article.
