• The Saint Petersburg International Hostel was Russia's first hostel, opened in 1992. The building is a renovated 19th Century structure providing a mixture of history on the outside with all modern conveniences on the inside. The hostel boasts 24-hour access and security guards so you never have to worry about getting in or out of the hostel safely. The staff is versed in three languages--Spanish, English and Italian. The hostel also offers daily walking tours of the city. Bed linens are available at no extra charge.

Puppet Hostel

• The Puppet Hostel is located in the heart of Saint Petersburg. Guests can walk to cathedrals, museums, monuments, parks, palaces and other historic sites. • Amberland Hostel in Kaliningrad is a 24-hour facility with no curfew. It features maps, guidebooks and a full kitchen. Napoleon Hostel

• Napoleon Hostel is in the thick of Moscow, only five minutes from Red Square and the Kremlin. The area around the hostel is a mixture of Old Russia (cobblestone alleys and medieval churches) and New Russia (trendy clubs and bars). Checkout is at noon, so travelers can sleep in before heading off on the next leg of their journey. For the traveler not getting a lot of sleep, the Napoleon Hostel offers free coffee and tea all day, in addition to free wireless Internet.
