Mediacom Internet Service Troubleshooting
- 1). Check your Mediacom modem to make sure that all lights are displayed on the modem. If the modem is not displaying the power light, check the power connection to make sure the modem is plugged in and the power adapter did not fall out of the back.
- 2). Disconnect the power adapter from your Mediacom modem and reconnect it after 30 seconds have passed. This process, called a power cycle, can clear up many basic modem issues.
- 3). Remove the Ethernet cable connecting the modem to your router if you are connecting to the Mediacom modem through a router instead of directly. Connect your modem directly to your computer to determine if the fault lies with the router and not the Internet service or the modem.
- 4). Open your Web browser and attempt to load several websites. It's possible that you are only having an issue with a single website, and nothing is wrong with your Mediacom service.
