How Long Should Blog Articles Be?
Blogging is still a great way to make money. Keeping your blog current can be tough depending on your schedule and how often you write,
One question I see often from bloggers is how long should their blog articles be. Let me quickly address that.
Who are you writing for? Is it for you readers, search engines, or both?
When writing for readers your article should be long enough to cover your topic. Focus on a point, write about it and be done. No one wants to read a book on your blog.
If you are a good writer you may be able to get this done in 200 words or less. By a good writer I mean you write interesting content that is free of spelling errors and contains proper grammar. One way to get better at this is practice, practice, practice.
I made my youngest son write 100 articles before I let him write for customers. His 100th article was much better than his 1st.
I know now that Google loves longer content that is unique and of the highest quality. These articles should be 750 words and include headline tags when publishing them on your blog. Do this and your post has a chance of making it on the Google rankings.
Is there anything magical about 750 words? Probably not, but it is hard to write high quality articles that are this long. You do not see it much on most blogs or in article directories.
That explains why Google likes these longer articles. It takes effort and skill to pull it off. Writers who are spinning articles and putting rehashed crap online, and calling them unique content, can not do this on a 750 word article without spending some time. Most will not do this.
On a personal note when you start getting your articles up to 800 to 1000 words I think you should break them up and create 2 articles. Of course you are going to need to come up with more words to get them to 750, but you are better off to do that.
One other thing on longer articles. You can turn those into reports of 1500 words by combining a couple of articles that relate to each other. This makes for a good free giveaway to help build your email list.
I like to make money online and using article marketing to do it. I do not usually loike to count words when I write, but there are times when you need to do it.
