• Manufactured by General Motors and sold under the Chevrolet brand, the Monte Carlo was introduced to consumers in 1970. The vehicle was well received and remained in production until 1988. • LS and LT models are each propelled by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 76 mm stroke, 99 mm bore, 9.8 compression ratio, 211 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 214 ft-lbs.of torque at 4,000 rpm. Powering the SS is a 5.3-liter V-8 engine with a 10 compression ratio, 96 mm bore, 92 mm stroke, 303 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 323 ft-lbs. of torque at 4,400 rpm. All models are equipped with front-wheel drive and all have a towing capacity of 1,000 lbs.

• LS and LT models have EPA mileage estimates of 21 miles per gallon (mpg) for city driving and 31 mpg for highway. The SS fuel economy is estimated at 18 mpg for the city and 27 mpg for the highway. All models are outfitted with a 17-gallon fuel tank.
