Hunger Levels On Nutrisystem: How High Are They?

103 10
I often hear people who are interested in the results that they might see on the Nutrisystem diet, but they are skeptical about the experience that they may have to endure to get there.
Other than the taste of the food, the most common concern is that I hear is how hungry you're really going to be once you start the diet.
I've had people confess to me that they're so worried about being hungry that they order extra meals, knowing that they may have to sometimes double up.
I honestly don't think that this is necessary for most people.
Yes, without any doubt, the portion sizes are diet portion sizes and are probably smaller than what you are currently eating.
And this might require some initial adjustment.
But, on the flip side of this, you will probably be eating more often than what you are used to as well.
Here's why.
They want for you to eat your three main meals (breakfast, dinner, and lunch) plus a snack and a dessert.
In addition, you are asked to add in fresh grocery items with each main meal.
So while the portion sizes are small, you will be adding onto that meal so that you aren't just eating the food provided.
And, you are eating five times per day if you eat your snack and your dessert separately from your meals.
To show you what I mean, I'll chose what I think are some tasty Nutrisystem entrees and pair them with some common grocery items.
And, I'll add in a snack and dessert to show you what you might be eating on a typical day.
Hopefully, this will give you some idea of how much food you'll be taking in.
Let's start with a breakfast of french toast (which is provided.
) You could add your own fresh fruit.
For lunch, let's go with the chicken fajita melt to which you could pair with a green salad on the side.
I like to have my snack in the late afternoon.
I'd chose the snack mix (which is kind of like cereal,) but you can also chose one of the new protein shakes if this appeals to you.
There are a lot of snack options in order to allow you either something sweet or salty depending on your preferences or moods.
Then, for dinner, I chose chicken and sausage with apple sauce as my side item.
Now, you have the option of eating your dessert later for a snack or having it with your main meal.
(I personally like to have it for later so that I can eat before bed and not wake up too hungry.
) Hopefully, this article has shown you that you eat quite regularly on this diet, but it is a diet.
The portion sizes aren't huge, but in my view they are enough and you get used to them quickly.
They do a really good job of giving you a lot of variety with a lot of different choices so that you don't get bored.
But I guess your hunger level is going to depend on your starting weight and what you are already used to.
I didn't find it to be as bad as I feared, but it is an adjustment.
