Seek-and-find Items

• Clear items off your check list to the right by searching for them in the room. When you spot the hidden objects, click on them and they will disappear. Move through different rooms when you are stuck. Come back to the room and you may now be able to find items that were impossible to see before.
  
  In Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst, it is easy to get tricked by the wordplay in the game. You may be asked to find a heart, but while you glance around the room for a red heart shape, they may mean a human heart. When you search for an egg, it could be hardboiled, a painted Easter egg or an egg cooked over-easy. A pipe could refer to one you smoke or one used in plumbing.
  
  

In-game Hints

• Each round begins with five hints and they are not replenished, so use them sparingly. When a hint is clicked, it does not give you the answer on how to solve a door puzzle. It shows you an image to let you know that you should be looking for the answers in that part of the game. If you are truly stuck on a door puzzle and have used all of your hints, your only option left is to click on the telephone. It will solve the puzzle for you, but you will be penalized with fewer hints on the next level.
  
  When hints are used on hidden objects, a circle of stars will surround one of the items on your list. Click the object and it will be removed from the inventory. If you need to use the hint to locate a particularly hard-to-find object, find everything else in the room first, before you use the hint. Gamers have no control over what the hint will find, unless it is the only item left.
