The master bedroom at the 2011 HGTV Dream Home features the Barrett Canopy bed by Ethan Allen
The master bedroom is made all the more dramatic by the black Barrett canopy bed. The contemporary bed has its roots in Shaker design. It is a revival of the basic Shaker pencil post bed with finials on top of the tapered pencil posts.
The hand-finished and distressed bed gives the impression of a well worn family heirloom and the canopy and drapery panels make it even more dramatic. The designer chose to use fabric panels in menswear.
The Parker wing chair is traditional with clean lines. A wide and deep seat makes it extra comfortable, and it has tapered legs. The chair is available in fabric, leather or a combination. A nailhead trim is optional.
In this room the chair was upholstered in houndstooth fabric and natural linen pom pom pillows with tone-on-tone color that adds a bit of texture.
