My name is Susan Combs, and I'm an insurance broker for Combs & Company. Today, we are going to talk about how to choose health insurance for preventative care only. So first lets look at what preventative care is. So preventative care are items that you are covered for that help with prevention and disease. So things such as your annual OB-GYN visit. As a male your prostate exam for a female a mammogram. For children it's all your well baby check-ups. So those are things that are considered as preventative care. With the national healthcare laws that have changed all preventative care is covered at a 100 percent without any payment by you. So no co-pay, no deductible, no cost sharing, anything. So when you are trying to find a plan that you are only concerned about preventative care you can really look for a high deductible plan or more of a you know what we call in the business a catastrophic plan. Because if your main concern is preventative care and you know that regardless of the type of health insurance that you take all preventative care is going to be covered now. You can really look at having a high, high deductible on your health insurance and really getting your premiums down.
