Console Tables - Furnish With Style

Whether you're decorating your home for the first time or are redecorating it, you're going to find that while styles have changed, they're also going back to the styles of many years ago.
Some of the examples where you'll find this are the flooring, window treatments, console tables and even the lighting.
You'll also find there are many styles you can choose including modern, colonial, country, traditional, French and many more.
Many of these styles are symbolic of what our ancestors used in their homes.
While they used these styles and designs out of necessity, we're using them today by choice.
Flooring years ago was hardwood floor by necessity.
It was all they had available so it was what they were stuck with.
When carpeting and linoleum were invented, it was like Heaven to many homeowners.
From there, we've seen tiles, laminate flooring and now many are back to wood flooring.
Wood flooring looks elegant and goes with any style of furniture.
Because console tables come in such a large variety of styles, finishes and colors, you can often get them to match your flooring.
Lighting is another thing that has totally evolved full circle in home decorating.
Years back, the main source of lighting was candles and then a couple of lamps.
From there, we were given the luxury of ceiling lights, hanging lights, pole lamps and chandeliers.
For a while there, you couldn't walk into someone's living room without seeing many kinds of lighting fixtures.
Today, some of the most elegant homes on the market contain only a few lighting fixtures.
We're back to using candles (this time scented for appearance only) and simple lamps.
Nothing looks more inviting and appealing in a room than console or sofa tables with a simple lamp and perhaps a book or magazine.
Furniture, and styles of it, has changed a lot through the years as well.
The thing that has changed the most is the materials and fabrics used in their manufacture.
Many of the styles still resemble those of years past.
We've seen sofas, loveseats, rocking chairs, recliners, sectionals and more.
However, most living rooms still have the basic, sofa, loveseat and recliner as their main furnishings, usually with console tables sitting alongside one of them.
You don't need a lot of furniture to have a beautifully decorated room.
What you do have should compliment each other.
If you've noticed, regardless of what furnishings I've mentioned, I keep coming back to console tables.
This is because they've been around forever and will always be around as an important part of your home décor.
Console or sofa tables can be used next to your sofa or chair as a place to keep your newspaper or TV guide so it's always handy.
If you have an empty corner in your home, nothing fills it better than a console table with a candle, picture, flower, statue or other simple decorative item.
Because console tables are so versatile and come in such a variety of styles and sizes, they can be used in bedrooms as nightstands, in kitchens, dining rooms and even the bathroom.
By now, you've figured that console or sofa tables are the all around home décor item that no home should be without.
