Making Magic in RuneScape

103 12
Magic Lvls 1-33 These levels will probably be the easiest levels you've ever seen.
It's my opinion that training magic is so much easier - and fun - than training other combat skills like attack, strength, defense, and prayer.
The first thing you'll want to do is go to the staff shop in Varrock and buy yourself both an air staff and a fire staff.
Both staffs are important for two reasons: The air staff will help you out for almost every spell.
Air is the most used element in all RuneScape magic, and you'll find yourself using this one a lot.
The fire staff is for the offensive fire spells that you'll be casting.
These typically take up enormous amounts of fire runes when added up, so you want one of these staffs as well.
To start out, buy around 10000 earth, water, and air runes, and around 2000 fire runes and strike runes.
Don't bother with body runes at all for the purposes of training.
Equip your air staff to start out, and set wind strike to auto-cast.
Go to the chicken coop northwest of Lumbridge and start slaughtering chickens.
With wind strike, you'll only be hitting 1s anyways, so chickens are the best option.
You should get to higher levels in very short order.
Whenever you can use a new strike skill, start using it.
You should have enough runes to last you a while.
When you get to level 9 magic by on chickens (should take around 15 minutes) start heading over to the cow pen.
Start using earth strike on the cows - you should kill them easily, as you can hit 6s.
Keep doing this until you reach level 13 magic, then switch to fire strike and use your fire staff.
Keep casting fire strike on cows (you should be able to 1-hit them now) until you're level 23 magic.
Now, you'll want to buy a thousand chaos runes from players.
They might be expensive, but you'll train extremely fast with them.
Head to Falador and start hitting the guards with Water Bolt.
Your max hit is now 10, so you should kill the guards easily.
Note: if you're training a magic pure with level 1 defense, there's a way to hit the guards in Falador without them attacking you.
Near the north entrance, there's a multi-combat zone with four guard spawns.
If you stand inside Varrock and shoot them at your maximum magic range, they'll run away from you for some reason.
They'll then turn around and stay in one place and you can shoot them without being attacked! Try it out - it works.
Keep doing this until your magic level hits.
Magic Lvls 34-55 At this point, you have the invaluable skill Telekinetic Grab.
So bring along a law rune and all your other runes, and head to the Wizard's Tower south of Draynor Village.
Climb to the top floor and start hitting the Lesser Demon with Earth Bolts, and, when you reach level 35, Fire Bolts.
Usually there will be quite a few other mages around here too, so try to cycle through worlds until you find one that's almost empty.
If you happen to find a Rune Medium, then just grab it with Telekinetic Grab.
You should find your magic levels shooting up because you get 22.
5 base experience every spell, in addition to the bonus you get for how much damage you inflict! When you are able to use the Blast spells at level 41, immediately buy a thousand death runes and start using them.
This is where training magic starts to become a moneysink.
If you don't have the money, you can keep using Fire Bolt, but the Blast spells will really make it a lot faster.
You should be killing the Lesser Demon relatively easily now, as you can hit 13 with Wind Blast, 14 with Water Blast, and 15 with Earth Blast.
If you're getting tired of training on the poor Lesser Demon here, then you can go to Barbarian Village and kill off the Barbarians.
I sometimes like to do this with my Magic pure because, if you stand on the other side of the table, the Barbarians aren't smart enough to get at you.
Still, though, using death magic skills on the Wizard's Tower Lesser Demon is probably the best way to train up until level 55.
You'll gain levels faster than you expect - besides, it's fun killing those big red demons.
Magic Lvl 56+ From this point on, there's two great ways to train magic.
The first way is a bit more conservative, but will actually make you money.
The second way will cost you a lot of money, but will do the job faster.
The first way is unbelievably simple.
Get yourself a few hundred (or thousand) nature runes and a Staff of Fire.
Then buy as many Rune Mediums for 10k as you possibly can.
What you're going to do is use high-level alchemy on these.
See, the thing about this is that it gives you, on average, more experience than training with attacks (although it might be a bit more boring).
Fire Blast gives you 34.
5 base experience, which is already a lot.
High level alchemy, however, gives you 65 experience a pop.
If you keep doing this, you'll be able to reach level 70 with 8785 High Level Alchemy spells.
This may seem like a lot, but you'll be surprised how fast it goes if you just concentrate on training magic for a day or so.
The great thing about this method is that it even makes you money! If you buy rune mediums for 10k and nature runes for 200-300 gp each, then you'll be making a small profit from each time you train your magic! How great is that? The only problem about this is that it takes longer to use your magic than auto-cast attacks.
It's also a lot more boring.
So if you have the money to spend on death runes, training with Fire Blast is also a great idea.
By the way, if you're already past level 60 magic, I would strongly recommend you become a member.
There are no free magic skills above that level.
If you're going to train using Fire Strike, do it on lesser demons.
You can either continue to kill that poor beast in the Wizard's Tower, or go down into Karamja or Crandor to fight the lessers there.
Note that in most those places, there are ways to cast spells on the lesser demons without them fighting back.
Try to find these positions and use them in order to save food (and possibly death).
Lesser demons are always aggressive and attack by themselves.
Keep that in mind while training on them.
