Feng Shui For Bathroom - How Bathroom Locations Affect Feng Shui
Feng Shui For Bathroom
Depending on where your bathroom is located in your house, it could be metaphorically draining your finances, your marriage or your career. Here is a list of the nine directions and how each one affects a bathroom's feng shui and the feng shui of the entire house. By making some adjustments you can have your bathrooms enhance your home's energy instead of hurting it. Feng Shui For Bathroom
North
The still North energy combined with the water and dampness of a bathroom make for stagnation. If you are becoming introverted or were naturally introverted to begin with, you need to add some tall plants to this bathroom fast. The plants (any plants) will drain some of the excess metaphorical water of the bathroom and their upward growth will counteract the downward pull of the bathroom's drains. Adding light will also help, both to make the plants look good and also to enhance the vitality of the space.
North-East
This is the worst possible location for a bathroom. North-East is soil energy, which breaks down water energy, but in an unstable way that can lead to poor health and abrupt and unpleasant changes in life. To balance this out put round, white or metal objects in the bathroom to add stabilizing metal energy. To make extra-sure that the energy is subdued, put a white clay or porcelain dish of sea salt in or near the North-East corner of the bathroom.
East
This is a good location for a bathroom. The East is home to tree energy which will complement the heavy water element in the bathroom well. East-facing bathrooms also tend to have good natural light, which helps with dampness. To keep the bathroom in good feng shui health, use the color green, wooden objects and stripes, or any other patterns or objects that go up.
South-East
Another favorable location for a bathroom. The tree energy here is mitigated by the fire energy of the south, both of which break down water in the feng shui creative cycle. Keep "up" the upward tree energy by using wood, stripes and green. Wall sconces that point up are also excellent for boosting tree energy. Feng Shui For Bathroom
South
With a bathroom pointing south, the heavy water aspect will douse the much-needed fire energy of this direction. This can also douse passion and decrease your opportunities for recognition. The solution is to add tree energy with the usual cures: Wood, stripes, plants and greens. You can also put in some fire energy by adding a few red or purple decorative elements, or by adding anything spiky. And, of course, a candle is the classic fire energy booster.
South-West
In the South-West we have moved into soil energy, and it is similar to the unstable soil energy of the North-East, but not quite so bad. To remedy the incompatible elements, add metal energy in the form of anything white, round or metal.
West
A bathroom in the West side of your house will drain the metal energy, which can result in reduced finances. The solution is to bolster the metal energy by using the usual metal cures: Whites, round shapes and metal itself.
North-West
By moving just a bit North into the energy of the North-West, the metal energy is still present, but it has been further eroded by the water energy that the North is contributing. Again the solution is to add metal. Feng Shui For Bathroom
