Akinneni Amala does Swaach Bharat in outskirts of Hyderabad
She went to each and every house in the village and educated them about swaach bharat. "We the Smaat volunteers, GHMC and blue cross cleared lot of garbage present here. I wonder how people are living here. The rain water is stagnant and these people are addicted to open defecation and due to these un-hygienic practices, they are suffering from water borne diseases; this should be changed and we are working for that." Amala says.
Apart from this,Smt Amala also inaugurated smaat's low cost hygiene product for women practice which Smaat focuses for women empowerment being March 8th as International Women's day and commemorating the event, she distributed the sanitary napkins to all GHMC Women workers and to the poor women present around.
As a part of this campaign Ms. Nagarjuna cleaned the garbage for over two hours despite of hot sun and sweat. Ms. Amala interacted with the people of the village and made them pledge for swaach bharat. Swaach Bharat Abhiyan is the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative that the people of the country should gift ‘Father of the Nation' a clean India on his birth anniversary.
On this effect an active participation from the villagers, smaat volunteers and the CMD of Smaat Mr. Karunakara M Reddy himself cleaned the garbage present with a broom. As this eve concluded Amala who addressed to the media members, the volunteers and the huge gathering of local public said that there is a lot of garbage present in the streets and they cleaned it, open defecation has become a major problem, they can even see the faeces, many dead bodies of dogs which are thrown in the garbage in turn creating epidemics. The open drainage which is flowing either sides of the road is creating mosquito breeding followed by harmful diseases such as malaria & dengue.
"I requested the people to follow clean practices and aim for swaach bharat , the conditions of the village are distressed we need all the issues to be solved" Amala said.
Amala congratulated smaat for this great initiative and asked smaat volunteers to educate about swaach bharat when they educate about water.
