How Do I Set Up Email Address for an AT&T U-verse?
- 1). Open up Outlook Express, then click on "Tools," then "Accounts."
- 2). Click "Mail," "Add," then "Mail."
- 3). Type in the name you want to appear on your sent messages in the "Display Name" field.
- 4). Enter your AT&T U-verse email address in the "Email Address" field, then click "Next."
- 5). Choose "Pop3" in the "My Incoming Mail Server is" box.
- 6). Type pop.att.yahoo.com into the "Incoming Mail (POP3 or IMAP) Server" box.
- 7). Enter smtp.att.yahoo.com into the "Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server" box, then choose "Next."
- 8). Type in your full email address into the "Account Name" section and your password into the "Password" section, then click "Next." Save all of the settings by clicking "Finish."
- 1). Open Outlook and click "File," then "Add Account."
- 2). Add a check mark for the box stating, "Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types," then click "Next."
- 3). Click on the "Internet E-mail" button, then "Next."
- 4). Type in your name and U-verse email address under "User Information."
- 5). In the next section, choose "POP3" for the type of account, "pop.att.yahoo.com" for the incoming mail server, and "smtp.att.yahoo.com" for the outgoing mail server.
- 6). Enter your full U-verse email address into the "User Name" box and password into the "Password" box.
- 7). Click on the "More Settings" button, then "Outgoing Server" tab. Verify that the "My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication" has a check mark beside it and the "Use Same Settings As My Incoming Mail Server" is chosen.
- 8). Click on the "Advanced" tab. Ensure that the "Incoming Server" has a 995 entered, the "This Server Requires a Secure Connection" is checked and the "Use the Following Type of Encrypted Connection" is set to "SSL."
- 9). Click "OK," "Next" and "Finish" to complete the setup process.
