Repair My Credit - How I Repaired My Own Credit Using a Proven and Easy To Execute Plan

I was surprised whenever I pulled my credit report and found out exactly how low my score was.
Although I have had some financial problems for the past few years, I never knew that it was necessary to repair my credit to such an extreme degree.
Yet here I was, staring at numbers in the 500s and wondering how I was going to get myself out of this mess.
I immediately started doing some research and found that it was possible to repair my credit, much the same as many other people had prepared their own in the past.
The first thing that I did, and perhaps one of the first steps that you can take, was to do plenty of research.
During this research, I found out that there were plenty of steps that I could take as an individual in order to repair my credit on my own.
This was very beneficial, as I was unwilling to go with one of the credit repair companies that was available.
Although legitimate credit repair companies can certainly do wonders for you, I wanted to get myself out of this mess through my own power.
Fortunately, there were plenty of steps that I could take in this regard in order to overcome this mess.
I contacted all of my credit card companies and was surprised that the majority of them were willing to work with me the first time that I called them.
One company in which I was delinquent on payments for several months actually lowered my interest rate down to 8% and reduced my monthly payment considerably.
This really helped to repair my credit, as six months of consistent payments meant that they would remove any negative marks from my credit report.
Slowly, I began to see my credit numbers rise into the 600s.
After consistently paying my bills for a year and keeping my nose clean as far as my credit was concerned, I was back up to the numbers that I had seen at one time.
It took a lot of effort in order to repair my credit but that effort has been well worth it, considering the fact that I have been able to get a home loan and buy a new car since that time.
I still keep myself on a strict budget and make sure that I pay all my bills every month, but it has gotten much easier since I was able to repair my credit and get on a program that worked for me.
