    • The Koei game company is known for a number of games today, like the "Fist of the North Star" and "Dynasty Warriors" series, and the game "Opoona" for Wii. The company also is responsible for a number of classic titles on a number of older consoles. The old Koei games are in a number of different genres but have the company's polish.

    Romance of the Three Kingdoms

    • Inspired by a Ming dynasty novel of the same title, Koei's early title "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is a strategy game with a focus on management of assets and hiring armies. As a ruler, you have to claim the various areas which make up the three kingdoms. The game was released for MS-DOS and the Nintendo Entertainment System.

    Stop that Roach!

    • The 1994 Game Boy title "Stop that Roach!" put you in charge of two characters puzzled by a roach infestation. Ken and Lily had to use traps and tools to clear their kitchen of the pests. Using teamwork and weapons like soap, you can kill your pest problem. If you want to return to your game later on, the password system lets you pick it back up.

    Brandish

    • Released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, "Brandish" is a top-down adventure title with an interesting navigational twist: Instead of turning on the screen, your character always faces forward. Before you get used to it, this can be somewhat disorienting, as the game moves around you. The game was more popular in Japan than the United States, as the other four titles in the series were not released in the U.S.

    Croc: Legend of the Gobbos

    • "Croc: Legend of the Gobbos" has been compared favorably by IGN to "Super Mario 64." It's a platform game that puts players in control of a crocodile working to rescue its friends, the Gobbos, from a wicked baron, Dante. As he runs, jumps and fights the enemies, Croc completes his mission.

    Destrega

    • Fighting games are a fairly complex genre, and "Destrega" for the Playstation is one of Koei's entries. The game, instead of having a small arena, has a wide playing field that you can explore and battle in. The game uses a magic system that is something like rock-paper-scissors. Certain magic is strong or weak against other types, and you can block and defend yourself against certain magic.

    WinBack: Covert Operations

    • Released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation 2 consoles, "WinBack: Covert Operations" is a third-person shooter that follows the exploits of SCAT, a special operations unit that uses stealth tactics. You are one of the top operatives who has to try and win back control of a world-destroying satellite from a terrorist group.
