Home Business Tips - A Professional Appearance is a Must
For some reason, people seem to think that just because it's on the Internet, you can just put up any old junky looking site and people are going to trust it and buy from it.
In the brick and mortar world, you have businesses spending thousands of dollars just to make their place look nice.
Why should it be any different in the online world? In this article, I'm going to tackle the subject of having a professional appearance in your business or suffer the consequences.
We live in a very distrustful world.
Thanks to the dot com bust of the 90s, people today are gun shy about buying things online.
They don't know if they're going to get what they paid for or end up scammed in the process.
Let me give you an example from my own experience of how a professional appearance is so important.
I was just recently looking for a DVD of an old TV show.
I couldn't find it anywhere.
I finally found this one site online that was selling it.
The site itself didn't look all that wonderful and I was leery that I was going to get scammed.
If I hadn't wanted that DVD so badly, I probably would have passed up the offer.
The only reason I went through with the purchase was because for me, the $45, wasn't so much money.
So, I went ahead with it.
Fortunately, the purchase went through fine and I got my DVD.
And yes, it worked just fine.
But it didn't have to turn out so good.
Point is, I was scared because the site looked like garbage.
Now, take that same scenario for a product that you can get anywhere.
Do you think that ANYBODY is going to buy it from YOUR site if it looks like it was put together by a 10 year old? I know I wouldn't...
not when there are other choices.
This is why it is so important to have a professional appearance when you put up your home business site.
You may not think it matters, but on the other end of that transaction, is a person who is afraid they're going to get taken.
If you can't design the site yourself, get somebody who can.
It will be more than worth the few hundred dollars to put up a site that will instill trust in your prospects and end up making you more money in the process.
