In actual fact, you don't have to worry about your search engine ranking at all because by doing a few simple things, your ranking will take care of itself without you having  to even  think about it! Believe me, the best way to start improving your search engine ranking is not to think about it.
Instead do a few simple steps.

The main point to remember is this - your search engine ranking is directly related to the amount of traffic that is drawn to your website.

Firstly, start writing some good,informative articles about your product or service.
Make sure that you use some well researched keywords in your article.
Normally I only use one good keyword per article.
Find about twenty keywords and write twenty articles using one specific keyword per article.
A small thing to consider in finding your keywords,before you choose your final 20, make sure that there is not a lot of competition for those words.
In other words, check to see how many references there are to your keyword (or words, phrase etc) on Google.
Also make sure to use the keyword in the heading of your article.
Then just get your articles published on a good article distribution site (this one is a great place to start).
Making sure of course, that your articles have your signature (link) to your website at the bottom.
This will start to increase your website traffic dramatically.
You will then see that in no time at all your search engine ranking will certainly increase and will only get better with every article you get published.
