A View On Soccer In America
Sports are not activities that are played just for fun anymore. They have become sources of great impact and influence on people as they run away from childhood into the ever demanding responsibilities of adulthood. Traditional sports in America have long since been Baseball, Football, and Basketball. Another sport with ever growing popularity is Soccer.
My introduction to Soccer was 30 years ago, when in America, was considered the outsider sport or the un-American game. Getting past the stereotypes, learning the game of Soccer was a whole new experience. Soccer, like any other sport, is a game of chance. The game ball will make you or break you, bring you victory, or defeat. The anticipation before the looming battle ahead is almost unbearable. Playing with a team it is required to have eleven players, it includes goalkeeper, so in the field there should be twenty-two. There are referees that keep the game going. A referee is the official of the game that will apply the rules of soccer. When you play with a friend you don't need a referee. You have fun with your buddies when playing at school, parks or just out in the neighborhood. Soccer is played all over the world, no one is left out.
Although most people think that good soccer players only require the physical characteristics of skill, speed, and endurance, there are also many psychological qualities that are equally necessary. The qualities that make one successful on the soccer field also make them successful off the field. Soccer has turned into more than a source of fun, it has played a major role in the lives of many and has taught young Americans more about morals, values, sportsmanship, respect, and discipline than they would ever realize.
As you can see, soccer is much more than a sport. It is a life, a dream, a passion, a career, and most importantly, soccer is one thing every country loves. So we can conclude that soccer has started everywhere, ended everywhere, and will continue to grow by leaps and bounds among men, women, and children.
