"The Simpsons" Meet "Star Trek
The Simpsons has paid homage to that legendary sci-fi series, Star Trek, many times. Whether it be subtle references, quotes, or hilarious characters, Kirk and his crew have found their way onto The Simpsons.

Opens with a commercial for the upcoming movie Star Trek XII: So Very Tired. An aging Captain Kirk remarks, "Had trouble sleeping last night.
My hiatal hernia is acting up. The ship is drafty and damp. I complain, but nobody listens." In engineering, Scotty has become so portly he cannot "give 'er full power".
"Homer Goes to College"
Original Air Date: October 14, 1993

"Deep Space Homer"
Original Air Date: February 24, 1994
In "Deep Space Homer" (as in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) Itchy and Scratchy appear in "Scar Trek: The Next Laceration." In this episode, poor Scratchy meets a horrible end, as usual, in outer space. No Genesis for Scratchy!

"Bart's Comet"
Original Air Date: February 5, 1995

"Lisa's Wedding"
Original Air Date: March 15, 1995
A look at the future lends itself well to this episode's Star Trek sound effects and other references.
First, Hugh's wrist phone makes the same noise as the tricorder from the original series. Next, Troy McClure's ensemble bears a resemblance to the uniforms of Kirk and his crew. Plus, the noises at Homer's work station sound like noises from the bridge of the Enterprise.
"The Homer They Fall"
Original Air Date: November 10, 1996
Comic Book Guy attempts to return his Ultimate Belt. Unfortunately, he does not have a receipt. He explains, "I won it as a door prize at the Star Trek Convention. Although I find their choice of prize highly illogical, as the average Trekker has no use for a medium-sized belt."
"Trouble with Trillions"
Original Air Date: April 5, 1998
The title of the episode is a parody of the Star Trek episode titled "Trouble with Tribbles," when puff balls threaten to take over the Enterprise.
Kang and Kodos
Aliens Kang and Kodos are recurring aliens on The Simpsons. Their names are taken from the original Star Trek series: Kang was a Klingon captain in "Day of the Dove;" Kodos the Executioner was a human villain from "The Conscience of the King."
"Marge vs. the Monorail"
Original Air Date: January 14, 1993
Leonard Nimoy, who played Spock on Star Trek, guest stars as himself.
Quimby: And now, I'd like to turn things over to our Grand Marshall, Mr. Leonard Nimoy.
Nimoy: I'd say this vessel could do at least Warp Five. [Crowd laughs.]
Quimby: And let me say, "May the Force Be With You!"
Nimoy: Do you even know who I am?
Quimby: I think I do. Weren't you one of the Little Rascals?
"The Springfield Files"
Original Air Date: January 12, 1997
Leonard Nimoy appears again in this episode. He narrates, "Hello. I'm Leonard Nimoy. The following tale of alien encounters is true. And by true, I mean false. It's all lies. But they're entertaining lies. And in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is no."
"I Love Lisa"
Original Air Date: February 11, 1993
Principal Skinner asks Groundskeeper Willie to water down the orange drink at the President's Day Pageant in order to recoup their losses from "Fire Drill Follies." Willie does an imitation of Star Trek's Scotty, saying, "I've already water'd it down, man. I can't water n'more!"
