Cyberbullying and menacing acts are turning into a common place on the internet, which has made parents more concerned about the security of their child, who is active online. The Digital Diaries at AVG indicate that about 64% of the parents are making use of the parental control measures to ensure increased safety for their child, when active online.
Also, 89% of mothers said that their kids have never been teased online by any unethical user. Academic research, indicating something different, meanwhile said that most parents underestimate the incidences of their kids becoming victims of cyberbullying and when asked from kids, 30% agreed of becoming prey to the hands of such peers and hackers.

Kids have now officially become natives of the online world, which can be said seeing that over 60% of children spend more than 2 hours every week on the digital world. 70% of mothers who have kids in the age groups of 6-9 make use of parental control, while around 7% kids spend about 10 hours, when carrying out different activities online. It's about 16% in Brazil and 12% in the US.

Also, when asked about email registration, 92% of the parents have not done this for their kids yet.
