The Signs of Inflammation Could Be Lurking Within
When you hurt yourself, you feel the pain and tenderness, you see the redness and swelling.
Those are all signs of inflammation.
But, believe it or not, those signs aren't bad when you see and feel them.
They're signs your body is healing itself.
Whether it's a cut, bruise, sprain or break, it's natural to have signs your body is healing.
But there are two reasons to be concerned about inflammation: 1) When the symptoms of inflammation are chronic; for example, your broken foot is still swollen and painful long after it should be on the mend.
2) When the signs are internal.
Internal inflammation can be a symptom of any disease really-rheumatoid arthritis, heart disease, even cancer.
Modern doctors link chronic inflammation to every disease you can think of.
And that's a problem.
It's a problem because our lifestyles and diet create inflammation.
You already know most of us are overweight, don't exercise enough and eat too many processed foods.
It's a hallmark of our sedentary jobs and eating on the go.
Even if you get regular exercise and rarely eat fast food, you may still be eating processed garbage.
I'll tell you what.
The more I learn about our food sources and what we require as nutrition, the more I'm outraged.
Even when you try to eat healthy, if you fall into the trap of buying processed foods (even the so-called "healthy" brands), you're still eating a ton of crap.
Sure, there may be fewer nasty preservatives in the new world of "healthy" convenience foods.
And, surely, they're better than the salt laden "meals in a box" of yesteryear but when you get right down to it-in order to maximize your health, you have to eat whole foods you cook yourself.
Truly, the internal signs of inflammation can be barely seen until it's too late in many cases.
Now, if you stay on top of your health and see your doctor regularly, you may discover dangerous diseases like atherosclerosis plaque and the risk factors of diabetes early enough to catch them.
That's wonderful because you can start reversing the process so you can live longer and feel better.
You already know what to do.
Eat healthy meals and get plenty of exercise.
But you know what? One of the things you need to make sure you get lots of in your diet is omega 3 fatty acids.
Most Americans are severely deficient in them and these acids are natural inflammatories.
You can get more of them by eating more fish.
In fact, the American Heart Association recommends eating fish 2-3 times a week.
But there's another way you can get the omega 3 fatty acids you need and reduce your inflammation and that's with fish oil pills.
