This is often considered the most confusing part of a shed project.
If you have never worked with concrete before these tips will help you get more confident in laying your own garden shed slab.
You'll feel great once you achieve this stage.
Foundation Slab For Shed Questions Answered Q: I've never worked with concrete before, what do I do? A: If you've never worked with concrete before it can be a scary prospect but there's no need for it to be - it's easy! If your shed slab is any bigger than 6' x 12' you may need to hire a mixer.
Otherwise you should have your measured quantities of sand, cement, lime and water on a plastic sheet beside you.
Gradually adding cement to the sand, mix lime in if you want extra cohesion.
Then it's just a matter of slowly adding water and keep mixing - it's that simple.
Q: What do I need to do before I pour the concrete? A: You'll want to set out your slab measurements with chalk & twine.
You may need to dig a little if the ground is soft.
Carefully build a containing screed to hold the concrete in all the while making sure you have your measurements right.
Once it's securely in place, add some gravel infill about 1/3 to 1/2 way up your screed.
Now all that remains is to pour the concrete in and level it to the top of the screed - with care taken on measurements it's really not hard at all.
These foundation slab for shed questions answered, should give you the confidence you need to get that slab phase of your garden shed build finally completed, now you just need to get up and get to it.
