Jet Airways – one of the leading carriers of India – is based in Mumbai. Currently, this airline serves over 74 national and international destinations by operating over 300 flights every day. Chhatrapati Shivaji is the primary hub of this carrier, which also has secondary hubs at the Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Brussels and Kolkata airports. Jet Airways recently introduced a number of changes on operational as well as managerial level. The association with Etihad – a leading Middle Eastern carrier – was the most significant among all. Apart from this, the carrier also opted for single branding under a new advertising strategy. These changes significantly affected the overall Jet Airways flight status. It can be changed even further in the coming months as revision in the aviation safety rating of India increased options with carriers based in the country.

Aviation Safety Rating

The United States authorities conduct an extensive assessment of aviation services every year in various countries and give safety rating after thorough analysis. It includes, services offered in the flights, technologies available at the airport, and a number of other factors. India has been granted the category 1 rating in the recent assessment. Prior to this, the regulatory authority downgraded the rating of the country from Category 1 to 2, back in January, 2014. This step affected Indian carriers, which offered international operations as they were banned from increasing flights to the US due to this.

Now, after this revised rating, carriers can now start new services, especially Jet Airways and Air India. The Transportation Secretary of the US said that corrective steps taken in accord to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) helped India in regaining the top rating. Now, a number of new options to the United States can be seen in the Air India and Jet Airways ticket booking lists.

The Indian aviation authorities worked hard on issues, which were identified during the International Aviation Safety Assessment (IASA). As the United States houses a number of prestigious universities and opens doors for many business opportunities, a number of people travel between these two countries. As per experts, it is an important destination for Indian travellers and this revised category will definitely leave a positive impact on both; the aviation sector of the country as well as airlines based in here.

Air Travel in India

As can be observed, air travel in India is growing at a fast pace. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) reports show that the demand will remain quite high in the coming years as well. However, it will not be as high on global routes, as it will be on domestic routes, such as Mumbai Delhi flight. Industry experts are of the opinion that low-cost carriers (LCCs) will capitalise on this demand. As far as International demand is concerned, Air India and Jet Airways ticket booking options will be increased. The international passenger traffic grew by approximately 6.9 per cent in the previous year that makes a total of around 43 million people. The trend is expected to remain quite similar in the near future as well. This is the reason the newly launched airlines in the country are also looking forward to start their international operations.

These airlines will also be benefited from this revised rating, once they commence their global services.
