    NickJr

    • NickJr.com provides numerous cartoon characters that 3-year-olds enjoy interacting with. It offers printable coloring pages, videos to watch, games to play and recipes to try. For 3-year-olds who are just getting into playing computer games, the Backyardigans Ghostly Dress-Up is imaginative and entertaining for ages 3 to 6. With its easy drag-and-drop format, the skill to use a computer mouse is all that's required.

In Backyardigans Ghostly Dress-Up, your 3-year-old gets to dress all of his favorite Backyardigan characters in Halloween costumes--swamp monster, wizard, pirate and a super hero. With four different backgrounds, five characters, numerous costumes and accessories, and several additions such as bats, pumpkins, spider webs and black cats to add to his creation, your 3-year-old will want to play this one over and over. Afterward, he can print out his collage of spookiness to share with everyone. Don't wait for Halloween to play this one.

    Noggin

    • Noggin.com is another source of fun games for children 3 and older. Noggin is owned by Nickelodeon, so many of the same cartoon characters are available on this site as there are on NickJr.com. With games, videos, printables and sections for parents, there is a lot to do. However, Noggin has one thing that NickJr doesn't--the Doodle Pad.

The Doodle Pad allows your 3-year-old to use his imagination and artistic ideas to create his very own work of Internet art. It has four backgrounds that change with the time of year and season, virtual crayons, paintbrushes, ink pens, fingerpaint pots and stickers to use in the creation. This game only requires the skills to use a computer mouse. It is a simple computer game for 3-year-olds.

    Fisher-Price

    • Fisher-Price is known for its toys aimed at infants and young children. Fisher-Price also has computer games available at Fisher-Price.com aimed at these same children. This website has numerous printable coloring pages, educational games and a few story videos for young children to enjoy. There are three game sections to choose from: Infant, Toddler, Preschool.

In the toddler section, The Little People Matching Game, aw with the other games mentioned, only requires that your 3-year-old be able to operate a mouse. In this game, the player is shown three animals and he is asked to choose the one that doesn't match. For example, two monkeys and a chicken. The player clicks on the chicken to move forward to the next group of three. Match all 10 groups and you win. It's simple, yet teaches the player to pick out differences.

    Have fun!

    • The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends no more than two hours of screen time per day, so computer games should always be monitored. Play the games with your 3-year-old. Learn the games to know what is more appropriate to his skill and comfort level.
