Internet Marketing - 3 Common Models to Make Money Online
I would like to discuss three models which are used for internet marketing and making money on the internet.
The common denominator for these models is Affiliate Marketing.
Meaning all three methods use affiliate products to generate their income.
In short, affiliate marketing means you sign up with a vendor and promote their products usually by using the internet with an affiliate link.
Any time a sale is made through your referral link you make a commission on the sale.
The amount per sale varies and depends on the product and vendor you are promoting.
Model #1: PPC (Pay Per Click) Go to google.
com and do a search for "web hosting".
Notice the ads on the right titled "Sponsor Links"? Those are called PPC ads.
Almost every big search engine has a program for PPC.
Most affiliate marketers use Google's AdWords.
But MSN and Yahoo have a their own PPC program too.
The idea is to have an ad like the ones you see there, which link to your site.
Every time some one clicks on your ad you pay a certain amount which you set in advance.
On your site you are going to promote the affiliate product which you get commission for and have your affiliate link somewhere on the page.
Model #2: Article Marketing The objective here is similar to the one in PPC.
Meaning you have a sales page linking eventually to the vendor, only here the traffic is FREE.
On the topic you are promoting, you write a bunch of articles or have them written for you (my preferred choice), and slowly over time submit them to big article directories.
Now pay attention that the above two methods focus on making a sale.
You try to convert a one time visitor into a sale.
This can be quite challenging and requires time and practice.
Model #3: E-mail Marketing With this model you can use both of the above techniques to drive traffic to your site.
However, the big differences is that you are not trying to convert a one time visitor into a sale, but rather simply get them to give you their e-mail address.
While a conversion rate for a sale is usually only 2%-5%, a conversion rate for getting an e-mail address can easily reach 20%-30%.
What are you going to do with an e-mail you ask? The answer is simple.
You are going to promote over time various products to the people on your e-mail list.
You are no longer trying to capture a one time visitor, you have a lifetime to make offers to your list.
