How to Make Cool eCards
- 1). Take fun digital pictures of yourself or your family. Use pictures that will remind the receiver of a special moment or person.
- 2). Connect the camera to your computer via the USB cable. Connect one end into the USB port on the back of the computer and the other end in the USB port on the camera. Wait for the camera to be detected by the computer.
- 3). Open your digital imaging software and open the picture from the camera folder that you want to use. If you don't have digital imaging software on your computer download and install a program like Gimp or Paint. Disconnect the camera from the USB port on the computer and turn it off.
- 4). Go to the "Image" tab or similar command in your imaging software and change your image size resolution to 72 digital pixels per inch (dpi). This will make the image smaller, but will prevent it from losing quality. Add text to the image if you want, using the text toolbar from the left side toolbar. Add different paint brush strokes or small interesting effects using the brush icon in the left side toolbar. Save the image as a JPEG.
- 5). Open your web browser and navigate to an ecard site that allows you to upload pictures. Regards, Egreetings or Create Ecards are greeting card websites that allow you customize your own ecards. Locate the customization option. Click the "Add Image" option and press the "Browse" or similar button to locate the picture you saved. Click on "Upload."
