How to Get Rid of System Tool 2011
- 1). Restart your computer. As soon as you log in again, press CTRL, ALT and DEL to bring up the task manager. Under the "Processes" tab, look for a process with ten randomly generated letters and numbers, such as "pAoVm07200.exe." Right-click the process and select "End Process." Close the task manager.
- 2). Delete the file that you just stopped from running. On computers running Windows XP, this file can be found in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\[filename]\" and on Windows Vista/7, in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\[filename]\." The name of the file you need to delete in this folder is the same as the one you closed down in the previous step. Right-click the file and choose delete from the menu.
- 3). Obtain an antivirus program. Now that you have removed the virus, you should still run a genuine antivirus program such as McAfee, Kaspersky, NOD or AVG to wipe out any trace of the virus left behind and to prevent it from returning. Remember always to keep your antivirus software up-to-date.
