Replacing A Bath Screen

There are several options to consider when replacing your bath shower screen and the first is what do you want from a bath screen in general.
Are you looking for ease of cleaning, what shape do you want and possibly the most important thing would be what sort of budget do you have in mind as screens can come in a wide variety of sizes, styles and costs.
Some people opt for a basic shower curtain if perhaps they are on a tight budget or perhaps they are just refitting a shower in a property they are looking to rent our or perhaps finish off in the quickest time possible.
Having said that, fitting a fixed panel does not have to take all that much time, in fact I have fitted several in under an hour - it is all a case of preparing first and having the correct tools.
Take care when removing your existing screen in that you firstly do not smash the screen itself as that will lead to a very message and potentially dangerous clean up operation.
Then when you are removing the wall channel, take extra care not to damage any of the tiles, with particular care noted when removing the original wall screws and plugs.
At this stage you need to decide whether or not the old holes will need filling and finishing or if you can get away with overlaying the new wall channel over the holes.
You will also need to remove any of the existing silicone sealant, do this with a sharp knife and then remove any with a cloth.
You are then ready to install your new screen.
