Which Ping G25 Golf Clubs Is in Your Golf Bag?
I am a 25 handicap. I like using the Ping G25 on the course and hit them really well. I know graphite should give more distance but since I go from 5 iron to hybrid, will the graphite expense be worth it as well? Have you added them into your golf list? Let's take a look at them.
Ping G25 driver
The Ping G25 driver still gives you all the forgiveness you are used to from their G drivers. The trajectory of the G25 driver was similar to the G20 and the flight was maybe a little stronger. It's stability seemed good although for some reason it did feel a little heavier when swinging the club even though everything else is the same.
The driver sits well at address and even though it seems to want to fall open when you ground it, it does stay square. This could be because the more subtle shaping around the sole weight allows the camber of the sole to work with the adjustable hosel as the change in loft changes the lie fractionally.
Ping G25 fairway wood
G25 fairway has a thinner face and more weight lower and further back to increase ball speed. The sound was a little duller than the G20 but the trajectory was possible a little more penetrating thanks to that marginal increase in ball speed. This design also increases the forgiveness of the club and if you have problems getting your fairways going straight then this is the club for you.
It is still a generous head size, but a little shorter from heel to toe. It does sit very well at address and the usual Ping low profile gives you the feeling of being able to sweep the ball away very easily. Combined with the better player looks, this is an ideal club for mid-handicappers or those who want a 'put-it-in-the-fairway' club from the tee.

The G25 head is still the same generous oversized design which makes the Ping i20 irons seem tiny by comparison. The feel is fantastic and is almost like a forged iron thanks to the new vibration dampening medallion on the back of the face. Right through the set, especially the mid to long irons, the feedback is excellent right across that large face.
The face feels lively enough without being too bouncy and when we find ourselves hitting irons for the joy of striking them in our testing we know that the G25 irons will be a winner. The forgiveness is such that it is quite hard to shape the ball left and right. Like the Anser, the G25 hybrid features a generous face that is a little more square in shape to widen the hitting area in the heel and toe. Right across the face, the G25 is very forgiving and feels excellent.
